WHY NOW

Money used to leave a hand. Now it disappears.

A coin or a note used to go, and a child could watch it go. Now it's a tap, a phone, a green tick, and the moment vanishes. Children grow up watching money disappear rather than watching it get chosen. From September 2028, financial literacy becomes part of the compulsory primary curriculum for the first time. Community settings don't have to wait for that: every family's experience of money is different, some children see cash, some see cards, some see neither, but the pause we teach, the Money Tap, works the same way for all of them.

Two lanes, and which one fits your setting

Run in your hub, library, family centre or hall. Choose the lane that matches your group, or tell us and we will help you pick.

LANE ONE

The family session

Children aged five and above, with the adults who bring them. Forty-five to sixty minutes, up to fifteen people. A story, then a routine the children can perform before they can explain it: two taps, a pause, one question, then a reason. Needs and wants, then what to do with money once you have it, with sharing held as an invitation rather than an instruction. Shaped around what your families need, not delivered identically everywhere.

LANE TWO

The tailored session

Open to everyone, at any age. Where your community has a specific thing it is trying to shift, we build the session around that rather than around our standard shape. Older children, teenagers, adults on their own, mixed groups, a staff team, or a single family in a quiet room. Tell us who is coming and what you want them to leave with. We tell you honestly whether we are the right people for it, and say no if we are not.

What it costs, same for either lane

  • £350One session, up to 15 people, 45 to 60 minutes.
  • £600Half a day, two groups.
  • £800A full day, three groups.
  • £1,250The supported journey, five households.
  • From £450Built around you, a bespoke visit.

Materials for up to 30 children and travel within 20 miles of Stone and Stoke-on-Trent are always included. Materials beyond 30 children, travel further afield, and an additional facilitator are quoted separately. A written quotation follows within five working days.

Would someone else be paying for it?

For councils, commissioners, funders and responsible businesses. Fund either lane and families walk in free, the venue pays nothing, and your funding is what makes that possible.

  • Unnamed counts onlyWe never receive a register, an attendance list or any child's name.
  • Nothing branded at the childrenNo sponsor branding in the room or on anything a child takes home. Credit sits on our communications and in the reporting.
  • Outcomes mapped for a bidWe have mapped this ourselves to four National Lottery Community Fund outcomes under "communities help children and young people thrive".

You provide the room

We bring everything else. Facilitator-led sessions of 45 to 60 minutes, children and their grown-ups together, with one or two of our facilitators alongside your own staff. Children stay with their grown-up throughout, you stay responsible for safeguarding your attendees and venue, and we are never alone with a child.

Nobody is asked about their money

No child is asked to compare what they own, and no adult what is in their account. Every activity works with stars, stickers or pennies.

One honest boundary

This is preventative money education, not regulated debt or benefits advice. For that we always signpost to Citizens Advice, StepChange or MoneyHelper.
